I have a very simple html script creating a dynamic token that switches between two hosted images based on time of day but for some reason manifold/opensea both stopped displaying the art. I checked my script and the linked images are fine so Im not sure what the problem is.
The script came through fine, the forum hides HTML tags, so it only looks cut off.
I read the script that is on the token as well. Both image links in it start with http:// . Manifold and OpenSea show the piece inside a secure page, and a secure page will not load images over plain http , so the browser blocks them and you get a blank frame. Opening those links on their own still works, which is why nothing looks wrong when you check them. Your site also has no working https at the moment, a secure connection to www.tristanrettich.com fails before any file is even requested. If you are the owner of tristanrettich.com, you need to switch on an SSL certificate. Another option is to move both images somewhere that already serves https.
Odd that this host would suddenly be a problem 4 years later but to try and fix it I hosted my two images on gdrive and rewrote the script and updated metadata on manifold, hopefully that does the trick!
The new links point at Google Drive’s viewer page rather than the image file. Opening one in a browser shows the picture, which is why it looks right, but the image tag in your script gets back a web page, so the frame stays empty.
Drive serves the files themselves from a different address:
Those two return the PNGs, and will keep doing so as long as both files stay shared with anyone who has the link. Put them in the script and update the token the same way you did last time.
If you would rather see it working before you touch the real token again, Studio has a testnet workspace: you can mint the piece on Sepolia and view it there, with free test ether from a faucet rather than real ETH. Switch to it from your profile at the top right, and this page covers it: Manifold Help Center
