Can't update metadata

Can’t edit. Every time I try to do so I get an automatic download of a formerly linked image. I can’t change the image on this token for some reason. I can change the others on the contract. Is something stuck?

I try to choose a file with which I want to replace the existing file. The file dialogue comes up; I choose a file and hit the Open button. Nothing happens. Currently stuck in limbo and the token has no image. Please halp.

gm! it’s been a minute. Can you provide a bit more info? Particularly a screenshot of the issue with the console visible? Instructions here:

Also, can you provide a bit more information of the filetype/size of the image youre looking to update with?

gm ser! Thanks for getting back to me.

  1. On Manifold Studio

When I navigate to this page; it automatically downloads a file called Vpq-FFXitga20ijwjI87FwnXy-SK_9r-LglSkFNJMjU — an older image I had there for a while.

  1. When I click edit, then try to upload a new file, nothing happens. See screenshot. At the moment, the token has no image, and I cannot add one.

I am now going to try to upload the screencast I just took but I don’t yet see how to do this.

As you can see, the upload function isn’t working. I updated other tokens without issue; but this one seems stuck?

Super helpful - Can you record the screenshot with the console showing? There’s an example in the link I provided above, it will help us see any error messages that pop up

Mac, Brave, OS 12.6.5, screen shots attached

@lyndo, any word on this? Please help; thanks!

hi apocalypse,

sorry for the issue - i just cleared your image from the Edit → New Media component and replaced it with a temporary image. You should be able to clear it, upload your image again, and publish your edit now.

Make sure to republish! And let me know if you run into anything else

David

Hi David,

Thanks! FYI, this did not work at first. I could replace the image, but I could not publish due to the error’s shown in the orange box in the red text at the bottom left. Then I hard refreshed the page and… it worked!

Can you tell me (1) why this happened, (2) how to avoid this snag in the future, and (3) whether & how to fix it if it happens again?

Thanks so much!

sorry for the late reply!

Tbh I’m not sure - we looked into it further and the file type was not an image but some adobe photoshop type. We made a fix so this shouldn’t happen in the future. But if anything else weird happens, posting here in forum is the best bet!

Appreciate the patience, and sorry again for the issue!
