Fractionalizing an already minted NFT via Manifold

Hi Community,

I recently minted my first NFT on Ethereum and would now like to fractionalize it to efficiently sell shares. I have already created a Smart Contract on Manifold (ERC-721) but I am unsure about the best way to proceed with Manifold for this purpose.

My questions are:

  • Can I link the existing NFT to the Manifold Smart Contract?
  • Is there a direct way to fractionalize NFTs using Manifold, or do I need to use a third-party platform?
  • Which platforms (e.g., Fractional.art, Unicly, etc.) integrate best with the Manifold workflow?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards

gm! Not sure what you’re asking but this token was minted outside of Manifold? And you want to import it into Studio to fractionalize? Studio doesn’t have any tools that will support fractionalizing a token at this time.

One way to “fractionalize” an existing NFT is to a do a burn redeem for the unique non-fungible 721 tokens in return for a certain amount of an identical/fungible ERC1155 token of your design. You could do this anytime now doing Manifold tools!

Just import the ERC721 contract into your Data Sources in your Workspace/Profile settings. You should then be able to create a Burn Redeem after and see those tokens as a burnable option during the setup. You’ll need to deploy a new ERC1155 contract in the process for the new fungible ERC1155 tokens to be redeemed/minted on.

Another way would be to integrate/push whoever owns the token(s) to use something like fractional.art to individually go and fractionalize the assets they sovereignly own.
