Hey, Manifold team, it’s not my first contract or minting, but I don’t do this enough for it to be routine. I am trying to make a series with my Autocthons collection (Wallet: 0xC14d608416A65388df8C52e31AA5500ee5B84C29) and the Mint Token process is blocked in step 2 in the Deploy Contract portion with an error that says:
“Hang tight! It looks like your contract is taking longer than expected to verify. It will verify automatically, and you’ll be emailed as soon as it does.”
The first time I went through, I did not have enough Base, so I got that fixed; now, whatever I do, it’s back to the error. I have tried waiting hours, refreshing the browser and retrying, then canceling and restarting, but I am stuck here again.
I am using Metamask (and Wallet Guard)
Thanks, please help ASAP

What is your wallet address?
A summary of the issue
What are you trying to do?
What is the actual outcome? Are you seeing any error messages?
Oh OK, I retried it like 8 times, will those extra attempts just clear themselves out? I have other collections to mint, I hope I can get to those asap also!
Howdy madbutter, first of all totally understand your exasperation. It sucks so bad when this happens. Bah.
Anyways, it looks like etherscan is having some issues with their contract verification system. We’ve got a big old queue of contracts we’ve requested them to verify once they fix their issues.
The good news is that Verification is an optional-cherry-on-top mechanic we do to make your contracts more transparent to collectors. But it doesn’t need to be done to make your contract usable.
Both of your contracts should still exist on the network you deployed and confirmed the transaction to in your wallet, and you will be able to use them in manifold shortly once etherscan is fixed. You won’t be able to mint on them until then.
We’re going to add a new feature shortly that’ll allow you to bypass that step since verification will still happen all on its own once etherscan comes back up.
My suggestion in the meantime is to wait an hour or so and come back to mint again. By that time hopefully the contract has verified.
If not, rinse wash repeat.
I know that’s a huge pain in the a** and sincerely apologize. Our system wasn’t built to handle etherscan themselves breaking and going down for this long of a period of time so we’re scrambling to add that new feature to make studio usable when this happens!
Thanks for explaining so thooroughly. It did go through. Last time in a frenzy of hitting the Retry button and waiting over and over I also hit cancel. When I came back the next day I could not see that first mint or contract anywhere on my Manifold portfolio, so I assumed I deleted it and re-entered everything again. Are you saying I now have 2 Autochthons contracts/ projects? Is that a problem?
