Hello,

I’m reaching out regarding an issue where my NFT was transferred without any payment being received.

Contract address: 0x298c427b62f752762bb117918d2A04895689B0a9

Token ID: 5
All my NFT transferred token 1 2 3 4 5 6

Transaction hash: 0x6ead1ad13d10b86b63360af23a61d089a1d7aa24b9069385255cd4de3567a82c

I had listed the NFT using a fixed price listing via Manifold, and the listing was still active. However, the token was transferred to another address with a value of 0 ETH, and I received no ETH or WETH in return.

Can you please investigate whether this was caused by a listing misconfiguration or a potential vulnerability in the contract?

Thank you,
Sarah_digilife

hi Sarah_digilife,

Manifold uses a “custodial” marketplace contract for its listings, meaning that the token(s) you list for sale are transferred to the marketplace contract for the duration of the sale (lyndo explains it better here: Gallery App and Fiat "Buy it Now" - #2 by lyndo ). the address in the transaction shows that initial transfer to this address: 0x3A3548e060Be10c2614d0a4Cb0c03CC9093fD799 , which is Manifold’s marketplace contract address.

this is the expected behaviour, as warned as part of the listing creation process (albeit lower on the page):

as you are the creator of the listing, you can manage it through the Marketplace Studio app.

hope this clarifies the process for you, and don’t hesitate to ask more questions!

I recently listed my NFTs via Manifold using a fixed-price listing. However, I’ve noticed that the NFT has now appeared on Foundation under a collector’s profile, and it was marked as transferred—even though the sale was never completed through Manifold and I never listed it directly on Foundation.

Additionally, Foundation now shows one new collector on my profile, even though no ETH or WETH was received in my wallet.

Could you please help me understand what may have caused this behavior?
Was the listing somehow accessible via Foundation, or is there any integration between Foundation and Manifold that might explain this transfer?

for sure! i checked on Foundation, and the collector profile you mentioned is this one: 0x3A35…D799 | Foundation. this address is not an externally owned account; it is the Manifold Marketplace contract that holds your listed tokens for the duration of the listing.

this behaviour is to ensure trust between the seller and the buyer; think of it as a transparent 3rd party that make sure both sides of the deal has been fulfilled (this 3rd party receives the bidder’s bid amount in full and the listed token) before finalising the deal atomically. this 3rd party is only present to help make the deal, and receives no commission.

there is no ETH/WETH transfer, as the listing has not been completed.

in summary —

  • there is no transfer of funds yet because your Marketplace listing has not been completed;
  • there seems to be an extra “collector”, but that collector in actuality is the Manifold Marketplace contract which holds your token in escrow until the listing is cancelled/completed.

i hope this makes more sense :>

Yeah thank you for your response :folded_hands::rose:
