You cut right to the chase! Yes, I want to have the physical art tied to a digital twin/NFT. If a customer buys a print, they get an NFT that can proportionally serve as a mobile home page or a PFP.
Stripe is a very common ecommerce checkout solution. stripe.com
I’m sure you are familiar with STRIPE.
Currently, the web platform does not have the ability to assign a particular edition number to the purchase of a limited edition print.
But Manifold has this ability already. For example, if I minted a Series of 100 ERC721s of one of the 16 prints on Manifold, you would assign a number and deliver that edition number to the collector.
Given that the web platform is not as intelligent as the Manifold smart contract, how could we enable this?
In the website’s beta incarnation, I could arbitrarily assign an edition number by issuing an invoice to the client through Stripe. If that invoice is paid, it could trigger the delivery of a digital twin.
Interesting problem to ponder. TOS for the physical print would be important because you would not want NFTs issued if a customer returns a print.
Or we could turn the problem around and have the purchase of the NFT trigger the deliver of a framed physical print subject to the TOS of the NFT. Maybe even with an NFC chip.
I’d love to discuss this with you, as my life’s work is centered around RWA and the persistence of provenance.
