Zip files

Hi—I am looking to re-mint a historical media work from the 2010’s that was originally released as a ZIP file containing a set of images. Can Manifold support this in some way? ie as a downloadable Zip file (and potentially an image placeholder)?

Thanks!

Very cool! That’s really interesting - Do you think your audience would have any security concerns downloading a ZIP file? What some creators have done in the past is link a file, or large video in the hidden metadata of a token. It’s up to you what you would like to link there.

No concerns regarding security—it’s audience will be mostly curatorial/higher-end collectors/institutions.

Could you be more specific about how to edit/apply the metadata? Through the minting interface there are some very basic fields, do you mean the ‘External URL’ link or is there somewhere I can interact with the coding in a more complex way?

Thanks

The External URL is usually an artists website(Not all platforms will allow you to link out)

When creating a token, there’s a hidden metadata trait you can add to your token. This allows you to input metadata that won’t be displayed on a platform but can be found looking at your token’s metadata.

In this Heir to the Throne token - You can see a ‘Terms and Conditions’ link that isn’t attached to the display of the token but is contained in the metadata.
